For the project of the Crypt, I did some researches about steampunk style machine design and some old industries machines references. The following image is my element board which is some choices I can pick and elements I can use from each picture. Gears, exposed and complex structures are elements when I research these pictures.

After the first research, I will use their elements to do the second detailed research, in the second research, I will focus more on the structure of machines and are they reasonable in the crypt.

Also, to understand how these gears rotate and how does it work, I have watched some videos about how to operate these machines.

At last, I have picked my machine reference in research which is the following picture shows, it is steampunk style design and has gears and complex structure.
